This kit will typically lower a car 1.6" at all corners. The lower center of gravity provides greater handling, increases driving fun and we all know these cars look awesome lowered. These are specifically for the '89-97 Thunderbirds and Cougars (all engine sizes). Also fits the Lincoln Mark VIII when doing a custom spring conversion kit.
The reduction of the spring travel demands a specific spring characteristic, derived from Motorsports. The VOGTLAND-Compound-Spring consist of two different spring rates: a starting and an end rate. These are specially calibrated for every car model balanced and interacting characteristics stand for a well-balanced driving comfort and more sportive dynamics.
When you lower a car it will need to be realigned and you should also consider getting new shorter rear sway bar end links to maintain proper bar orientation. We also suggest you consider getting our polyurethane rear spring cups to replace your worn rubber stock pieces when upgrading springs. Lastly, the front springs mate with the upper shock mounts and they are primarily rubber so if yours are the 25+ year old rubber ones it's time to change those out too while swapping in new springs.
