Awesome aggressive looks and a huge weight reduction are two good reasons why you should upgrade to one of the SCP fiberglass hoods. Features a reinforced latch and hinge area. You can use the stock hood shocks for raising/lowering, or go with a prop rod.
This hood is basically a Cobra R hood with the addition of the ducts in it and has approx. a 3.5" center rise. The scoops on this hood are not "functional" with regards to air intake into the engine but are very effective for heat extraction. Each scoop has aluminum mesh covering the opening to prevent small items from entering.
These hoods come in a white top/black underside gelcoat primered finish and do require finish sanding and fitting. If you would prefer an all white or all black gelcoat finish then there is a $55 charge for this. The factory hood shocks can be used on these hoods. Due to the weight difference we suggest you use well worn hood shocks...preferably ones that will barely hold up a steel hood. Hood pins are not mandatory, but are highly encouraged to prevent accidental lift off of a hood. We have a chromed steel hood pin kit with the hairpin style release available and Chrome universal prop rods are also available.
NOTE: A $95 boxing and packaging fee applies to all hoods. All shipping costs are prepaid at the time of order. You may call us to order the hood and we will provide an exact shipping cost over the phone for your approval. You may also order online and we will hold the order and give you a shipping cost via email for your approval prior to processing the order. Once you receive the email with the shipping cost you may either accept or deny the charges to allow us to proceed or cancel the order. Truck freight shipping has risen dramatically since fuel costs have gone up and will vary depending upon your location. Shipping costs will be a minimum of $200 or more for those in the Northeast, and possibly over $400 for those on the West Coast. Canada deliveries will be a bit more. We typically use Old Dominion Freight Lines (ODFL) and we assume you are shipping to a business location or a ODFL depot. It will be an additional $90 if the hood is sent to a residential location.
Note to Canadian customers: A $55 fee applies to all exported hoods to cover the time necessary to process the customs documents.
Typical delivery time on a hood is approx. 6-8 weeks. Our busiest season is spring time and delivery times can stretch to 10 weeks, so order your hood according to this schedule. If you must have FAST delivery, we do have a "Fast Ship" option where we will guarantee that the hood is shipped out in approximately 3 weeks, or less, from the time of order. The cost for Fast Ship is $150 plus the delivery cost. It is recommended that you call us to place a Fast Ship order, or you may write "Fast Ship" in the Comments section during the checkout process.
