For those Big Dogs out there looking for the ultimate exhaust setup...Here It Is! Super Coupe Performance is now offering Long Tube 3.8L T-Bird / Cougar Headers. Unbelievable overall performance!! This purchase is for a PAIR of headers (right/left).
These have 1 3/4" primaries and 2.5" collectors. Made from mandrel bent 304 STAINLESS steel tubing with a thick flange and a 3-bolt header collector type downtube connection.
Note: 3" collectors are available as a $95.99 option. If this is desired, then request it in the "Comments" section during the checkout process.
NOTE: Pictures shown here are a set Jet Hot coated headers. The stainless headers have a bright natural finish, not a polished silver appearance.
The stock cast iron manifolds on these cars are incredibly small and have a 1.7" collector diameter. To eliminate this cork in your car go with our custom designed headers and a free flowing exhaust system. Expect at least a 25 HP improvement and also a peace of mind as opening up the exhaust system on this car is the most significant way to reduce head gasket failures.
These headers are a direct bolt on but as they are substantially longer than the stock cast iron exhaust manifolds you will need to rework the front part of the exhaust downtubes (front part of your exhaust).
Also due to the extra length of the SCP/Kooks headers, new oxygen sensors with a longer leads and our O2 extensions will be required for proper sensor hook up. SCP can supply these for you if desired. Remember that oxygen sensors gradually degrade over time and should be replaced at 60,000 mile intervals to maintain peak performance.
